Oxnard High School Marching Band and Auxiliary, under the direction of Band Director, Mr. Andre Spence, takes pride in representing its school as well as our wonderful City of Oxnard. In recognition of the level of excellence they have achieved, the band is regularly invited to perform all over the city and beyond-including the Fiesta Parade in Santa Barbara, the NCAA Basketball Tournament in Anaheim, Port Hueneme Naval Ship Commissioning Ceremony, the Oxnard Christmas Parade, the Strawberry Festival, the Ventura County Fair Parade, Oxnard Union High School District events and many others. Our drumline was selected for the third year in a row, as the official drumline for the 2014 Dallas Cowboys Training Camp. These honors are not taken lightly; the students of this organization are dedicated individuals who are passionate about music and loyal to their school.
In addition to being an exceptional music program, the Oxnard High School Marching Band and Auxiliary provides a strong foundation to develop each student's capacity to serve as a leader, in the program and beyond. Each student is provided their own development plan; each progressing at their own pace, but also stretching to meet their full potential. In addition to their own self development, the students who participate in this demanding program, also develop a strong sense of team and dedication. Students graduate from this program as confident, focused, team oriented young adults who pursue college educations and careers that positively impact our community and beyond. This program is supported by a dedicated group of parents, better known as the OHS Band Boosters. The OHS Band Boosters are committed to "Keepin' the Music Alive" through fundraising, providing transportation, nutritious snacks and meals at competitions among other things! Ultimately, the OHS Band Boosters serve as role models for our students, demonstrating the importance of volunteerism and community service. Together, the OHS Marching Band and Auxiliary, Band Director, and OHS Band Boosters create an environment conducive to learning, growing and achieving! If you would like to support our program through donations or services, or if you would like to request the OHS Marching Band and Auxiliary to perform at your event please contact: Andre Spence, Band Director [email protected] (805) 278-1391 |

OUR MISSION is to provide young adults an activity that instills pride, teamwork, motivation, leadership, self-esteem, values and respect recognizing the individuality in talents and contributions of all members. These traits are then carried forward in all future endeavors. Each band member is regarded as a key player in a highly respected musical unit, reflecting a credit upon the entire organization, school and community it represents. We recognize that a quality band environment is an investment in the continued growth and prosperity of our community..
